Takehito Harada is best known for his partnership with Nippon Ichi, responsible for the artwork in Disgaea, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom. He is now, however, working with developer Compile Heart on a new RPG game, Infinite Souls, and new artwork from the game has been released.
Infinite Souls is an RPG with the same kind of Disgaea vibe, but with new characters and a turn-based battle system where, you can master smash attacks to send enemies flying across the field. The protagonist is ChouChou, a self-proclaimed absolute god hoping to take over the world. She’s accompanied by Altis, a demon reincarnated as an angel, her servant Lute, and another bunny-like servant named Shanpuru.
The art for the game is about what you would expect from Harada. The characters are cartoony, quirky, with their strength and willfulness exaggerated by their expressions and giant eyes, wearing fun outfits and crazy hair. The environment is bright and very colorful, varying from semi-realistic to Tron-like fantasy. If anything, it looks like a fun, beautiful game.
